Whatcom Middle School was on fire on Thursday morning blaze damaged the school badly. It was reported that the classes had been cancelled after the fire flare up in school’s building during early morning. The roof was reported damaged and collapsed. The incident puts lots of question marks on School’s future.
The firefighters were called around 1:00 in the afternoon. The firefighter initially searched out for anyone in the building but they were forced to stop search as it was declared unsafe. The school sources and the firefighters are confident enough that the building is free of humans but they are not confirm about it.
The fire begins in the morning and fire alarms helped the students and teachers to evacuate. The firefighting team of the school started their operations to get control of the fire but the wind provided more fuel to get heavier.
It is also reported that the glasses of almost all the windows were broken due to fire. The fire can be seen on the second floor burning the class rooms.
The firefighters all around the Whatcom Country were involved in the operation to control the fire.
The teachers and students of the School are advised not to attend the school till further decision. The reason of fire is yet to find out. The surrounding place of the school has also been closed to avoid any kind of harm.
The Whatcom Middle school is the oldest school in the Bellingham.
