The repercussions of an incident that took place more than two years ago have finally come to place as Willie Clark has been convicted of the drive-by shooting that took the life of Darrent Williams. The drive-by shooting that left Darrent dead took place outside a nightclub that goes by the name of Shelter when there was an argument between the two and Willie Clark and his friends opened fire on Darrent while sitting inside their limousine.
After the hearing of the case Darrent’s mother was of the view that this occasion wasn’t one for celebration as the family hadn’t won anything, rather it had lost a valuable member, a son, husband and father who will be sorely missed. Rosalind William, the mother of the NFL player who played cornerback for the Denver Broncos, was obviously relieved a bit by the verdict given by the jury which found Willie Clark guilty of twenty-one counts which also consisted of the two counts he was held for first-degree murder.
Willie’s friends who had been witnesses to the act had been quiet at first until they were revealed to have connections with a drug trafficking ring and then on the prospects of immunity and a shorter prison sentence one of his friends opened up to the investigators. Daniel Harris, who is also known as pony-tail Harris provided the police with crucial information that was needed for the conviction of Willie Clark and can reduce his previous life sentence to just five years if he cooperates fully with the authorities.
