Willie Dynamite is a 1973 movie, title being the nick name of the lead character performed by Roscoe Orman. The movie was also the last film by Diana Sands before her death. The plot revolves round a pimp or should we say a “super pimp” wanting to hit the very heights of the profession. Willie Dynamite lives a life of a millionaire, has a magnificent Lincoln, dresses up like a billionaire and enjoys every extravagance.
The money making machines are six drop dead prostitutes who are black, white and Asian. Everything is in place even the Willie’s mother thinks that her son has really a good job and working as an agent to some artist, until he faces the competition and that is too from a former prostitutes working for him. Both are in the same mission – to hit the heights of pimpdom. The conditions for prostitution start going awry. Police starts taking prostitution more seriously and on top of it Willie – the egoist refuses to join other pimps of the city in their effort to make things better for themselves. Moreover to add the icing to the cake Internal Revenue Services catch the smell.
The event that makes the difference in Willie’s life comes. Her mother gets cardiac arrest after learning the true source of income of her son.
The tag line in tears “Mom I did all this for you!” The film is directed by Gilbert Moses and presents some nice soundtracks.
