Without a Paddle Nature’s Calling is a light, funny and entertaining movie released in January 2009. The tagline on the cover says, “Three guys. One chance. No plan.” The main roles are played by Oliver James, Kristopher Turner, Rik Young and Madison Bontempo. Zach and Ben’s friendship is the main theme of the film. Both are friends since primary school. Ben has this huge crush on a girl “Heather”. He is completely head over heels in his love for her. Zach on the other hand is happy to be a “go lucky guy”. The friendship progresses into high school and then the heartbreak time for Ben arrives as Heather moves with her parents into other city. Ben is completely losing himself for over 12 years.
But then come a better time as the life goes on, both the friends choose different paths. Ben finds himself, day and night in a law firm and Zach is taking care of the elderly.
The climax shows Zach caring for a dying patient and his final wish to see his granddaughter. As he reveals the picture of the woman to Zach, she happens to be none else than long lost Heather “Ben’s first and only love”.
Ben is contacted immediately and they decide to search Heather, who is thought to be lost while doing her work as an environmentalist. The search is joined by heather’s cousin Nigel.
A host of difficulties are in stock for the trio in the shape of drunkards, wild animals, cow boys etc.
As the life repeats itself, Zach and Ben are into finding the feelings for each other and for Ben it is also about finding the love of his lifetime.
