Headline: Yankees went on-screen late night with David Letterman.
Yankees have secured their 27th World Series Championship and are now busy making rounds on TV shows like ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ and ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’. Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Jorge Posada made an appearance on Letterman’s show while Joba Chamberlain appeared on ‘Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon’. Though both the shows featuring Yankees were interesting, but Letterman’s show was surely a treat to watch. The three men sat side by side, confronting the intelligent questions of Letterman and answering them in an equally intelligent way. I particularly liked the way Jeter handled Letterman’s questions. Though his answers were quite political, it was nice watching him replying so fluently to a host who is famous for his penchant remarks and quirky sense of humor. I particularly loved the moment when Letterman bombarded Jeter with questions about his relationship with Minka Kelly. Letterman asked the Yankee if he was engaged to Kelly, as he (Letterman) has heard the news. Jeter replied in a natural way, ‘I heard that one, yes.’ He then said that he has also heard that he was engaged to Kelly. He said that he has also heard that he have been married to someone and have kids too and ‘stuff like that’. Now that was one answer which could come from seasonal politicians only – but hey, after all it was Jeter and I loved him for his rope-a-dope jokes on Letterman’s questions.
CC Sabathia is the next Yankee to make an appearance on TV this week. He will be featured on ‘The Jay Leno Show’ on NBC this Friday.
