In the drafting philosophy of Buffalo Sabres, big is back. When the team was selected Zack Kassian who is famous for strong right wing has also been selected for NHL draft in first round on Friday night. Kassian is of 210 pounds and 6 foot 3 inch. He has been drafted with No. 13 after he has enjoyed a break in this season of second year of the Hockey League of Ontario for Peterborough.
He stood on second position in the team and scored a total of 63 points in which 39 assists and 24 goals were included while 136 minutes of penalty added a team leading. It was a combination of sins and grit that he become that good to pass the selection test for Buffalo and it is the team that is lacking the top position.
Darcy Regier who is a general manager of the Buffalo team said after the first round that Buffalo is the team which has a combination of some less skilled player and some good rocky players who you always want to build a good team. We have a feeling the Zack Kassian will go together with other players of the team and will give them a message that our team would be a good fit.
Darcy Regier was referring Nathan Gerbe who is a 5 foot 5 inch tall young player and a forward of undersized in the team and Tim Kennedy who is a 5 foot 9 inch. He said in my views they are expected this season on the roster to compete for their jobs.
