
Zoe Sarnacki an 18-year-old woman who was living in South Portland was killed on Monday at 463 Cumberland Avenue and then her apartment was set on fire to cover-up the tracks of murder.
Chad Gurney a 27-year-old of Portland was accused of murdering Zoe Sarnacki appeared in Cumberland County Superior Court for the first time. He was accused of killing the 18-year-old and then setting his apartment in South Portland on fire to cover-up his tracks. The Portland police department has hesitantly identified the body of Zoe Sarnacki but a DNA test is pending for the clear identification. On the other hand not information was released regarding the death of Zoe Sarnacki by the state medical examiner’s office that how she died. Whereas information of the case is being pending, state prosecutors are calling the killing of Zoe Sarnacki a “horrendous” crime.
Yesterday the judge of Cumberland County Superior Court read the charges against Chad Gurney for murdering and flaming the house the Portland resident Chad said nothing.
Last Monday evening Portland fire department responded to a fire call at apartment 463 Cumberland Avenue, when they have discovered the dead body of 18-year-old Zoe Sarnacki after the clearance of smoke. According to the firefighters on the scene Zoe Sarnacki was dead prior to the fire with the injuries she has sustained before.
Prosecutors have called to assess the mental state of Chad Gurney, whereas they are not discussing the motives of the murder. This medical check-up might shed some light on this horrible killing of Zoe Sarnacki.
